About this experience
Spend an unhurried morning at Hathi Gaon, the purpose-built elephant village in the scrub below Amber Fort, where the animals live in shaded paddocks rather than on fort steps.
You help bathe and feed them, learn how each is cared for through the day, and meet the mahout families who have tended them for generations — a slow, hands-on encounter that trades spectacle for genuine time with the herd.
