About this experience
In the cold, clear hush of early morning, a Zen monk receives you in the meditation hall and teaches the posture, breath and discipline of zazen.
You sit in stillness as the temple bell sounds and the garden brightens, guided gently through the practice rather than left to struggle. Afterward you share a shōjin-ryōri breakfast — the refined vegetarian cuisine of the monastery — and quiet conversation on the way of Zen.
