About this experience
In the cool of early morning an art historian leads you down to the bathing ghats of Lake Pichola, where the city wakes to bells, washing and prayer beneath the palace walls.
You trace the lanes to the Jagdish Temple’s carved spire, into a pichwai painter’s studio and the courtyard of a 250-year-old haveli, learning to read the miniature painting, silverwork and frescoes of the Mewar school as you walk. The morning ends with coffee on a lake-facing rooftop.
