About this experience
Perched on the bench of an open Bedouin pickup, you bounce across Wadi Rum’s rust-red sand to the desert’s great set-pieces — the natural rock bridge of Um Fruth, the Khazali canyon and its Nabataean inscriptions, and the crimson dunes you can run down barefoot.
Between stops your driver brews sweet tea in the shade of a cliff and points out where Lawrence of Arabia and the film Dune both passed through this otherworldly landscape.
